This faculty member will be expected to teach courses across the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, including minors in political science, international relations, and prelaw. The department is currently seeking an Adjunct Professor. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for teaching courses within the department.

In addition to teaching duties, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to curriculum development, student advising, university service and to pursue scholarly research. Political Science is one of six departments in Biscayne College, which features a diverse, international faculty of scholars. We welcome applicants capable of contributing to the college's global and broad orientation toward liberal arts studies. This is an in-person position.

Essential Functions: Teach classes in the Political Science degree program. Participate in student advising. Contribute to program and curricular development. Contribute to department and university service.

- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the curriculum and course outlines
- Prepare and deliver lectures, discussions, and other instructional materials
- Assess and evaluate student performance and provide feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and revise course materials
- Stay current with developments in the field of study and incorporate them into teaching practices
- Provide guidance and support to students outside of class as needed

- Previous teaching experience in the relevant field is preferred
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, especially for courses involving adult language education or social work
- Familiarity with learning technologies such as Blackboard or other online platforms
- Experience in adult education or working with diverse student populations is desirable
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or library services may be beneficial for specific courses
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective instruction

Please note that this is an adjunct position, which typically involves part-time hours and a flexible schedule. Compensation will be based on the number of courses taught.
