About the College
The Community College District of Mid Missouri was established in an April 5, 1966, election as a result of a dedicated campaign by the Sedalia Jaycees and several local educators.  In September 1968, State Fair Community College (SFCC) opened for classes to 436 students in an interim facility.

Today SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to more than 5,000 students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners.

The college offers associate of arts, associate of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skills certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with locations in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online.

The Sedalia campus houses the State Fair Career and Technology Center. The center is only one of four tech centers affiliated with a community college in the state and provides training to juniors and seniors in nine technical programs from 10 area high schools.

SFCC is also home to the Roadrunners Athletic Program, featuring men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, track and field, cross country, golf, esports, spirit squad, clay target shooting, baseball and softball.

Mission
State Fair Community College provides relevant and responsive learning experiences that empower our students and communities to prosper.

Accreditation
SFCC has been affiliated with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, now the Higher Learning Commission, since it was founded in 1968. Full accreditation was granted in 1976 and the college continues to be fully accredited today. SFCC joined the Open Pathway for accreditation in 2019. Its next Assurance Review will be conducted in July 2023.
