The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for
the full-time position of Registrar. The
Registrar has the primary responsibility for academic record
keeping. This includes both course master files and student
records.
Essential duties include:
- Developing and implementing, monitoring and assessing policies and procedures that assure that academic records are kept accurately and up-to-date. This includes registration processing, grading, academic action, transcription evaluation, veteran certification, and immunization.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures designed to facilitate timely and effective development of term academic schedules and the assignment of classrooms on the Augusta campus.
- Promulgate policies and procedures assuring the effective management of student information in a variety of databases with primary responsibility for updating, maintaining, and managing academic information currently stored in MaineStreet.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures designed to facilitate timely and effective verification of student academic records for third parties, to include Federal/State- supported programs such as V.A. Educational Benefits.
- Communicate academic policies and procedures to campus and UMA Centers’ staff.
- Oversee the Registrar’s Office budget.
- Assist the office staff in daily duties, including building the semester course schedule.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM
- 5:00 PM, evenings and weekends as necessary.
Salary: A typical salary for this
position is in the mid-to-high 60s and is commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The university offers excellent

Required Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to act independently
- Problem-solving ability
- One to three years of supervisory experience
- Computer competency
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency
- Ability to communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to constituents with a wide range of understanding and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Three to five years of Registrar’s Office experience
