The Registrar Specialist serves as the first point of contact in the Office of the Registrar with phone calls, emails, and walk-ins, and processes transcript and diploma orders. This position is also responsible for processes advanced credit, registration adjustment forms, major/minor declarations and certifications, and other Registrar forms. The Registrar Specialist will collaborate with the University Registrar in managing the Alpha dual enrollment program.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Responds to inquiries about academic requirements, scheduling, and University procedures.
  • Responds to general inquiries: Graduation requirements, University policies, general questions.
  • Records advanced placement scores.
  • Maintains student records: Major/minor declarations, registration adjustments, coding memos.
  • Coordinates dual enrollment program.
  • Processes transcript and diploma orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate's Degree from a two- or four-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience: Minimum t hree years of office experience, including customer service and recordkeeping required.

Communication/Language: Basic: Ability to read, listen to and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write and communicate simple correspondence.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills: Proficient experience with a student information system, MS Office (Word and EXCEL), and Google Applications (DOCs, Forms).

Other Requirements
  • Requires a detail-oriented person with the ability to multi-task, and problem solve in a timely manner.
  • A high level of confidentiality and excellent communication skills are necessary.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of people by phone, email, and in person.
