The Biology Department at Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year position in Biology, with expertise in microbiology, at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning August 2024. A Ph.D or ABD relevant to the position is required upon starting the position in August 2024.

The successful candidate will have a 5-course teaching load that includes Microbiology with lab, Cell Biology with lab and supervision of senior thesis writing and presentation. Depending on resource needs and interest, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to pursue research projects involving undergraduate students during the academic year or during the summer. The position may have the possibility of being extended for a second year.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
