Teaching Post-Doc from CU Boulder.

Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Teach 24 credit hours per academic year, course assignments include courses across the undergraduate curriculum. Teaching includes preparing class and evaluation materials, delivering lectures, grading, and being available for student questions.
  • Work in drop-in tutor room.
  • Collaborate with other instructors teaching common courses.
  • Aid with development of course materials.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
  • Produce and remediate digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:
  • PhD in Mathematics from CU Boulder
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks within strict timelines.
  • Familiarity and/or willingness to work with Excel and Office 365 cloud functionalities.
  •   Familiarity and/or willingness to work with LaTeX, WeBWorK, Canvas, or other typesetting, online homework, and online course management systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships across academic units and with other offices on campus.
Preferred Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:
  • Experience teaching College Algebra, Precalculus, Statistics.
  • Experience teaching underrepresented populations.

  • Chair of Mathematics Department

  • Work hours are flexible but should fit within a standard work week. Employees must be present on campus for class, tutoring and meeting times, but have flexibility for their grading and preparation.

T he position will pay $55,000, per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
