Director, IT Project & Demand Management Services



Position Summary:

Lead with purpose at the University of Dayton as the Director of Project and Demand Management, where your expertise shapes initiatives, builds community, and drives projects aligned with our values, fostering excellence in education and service. The Director, Project and Demand Management will drive UDit strategies by leading the project management team, leading technical strategic solution implementations, acting as a liaison between UD divisions and UDit, assessing UDit capacity and prioritizing projects across the University.

Responsibilities:
Establish and implement processes for the system development lifecycle, including gathering business requirements, developing design, building and testing the solution and implementing
Establish and implement standards and processes for successfully managing UDit projects
Establish and implement processes for funneling all UDit requests into one system, review and prioritization, and aligning schedule and resources
Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members on projects
Research and evaluate technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company
Facilitate collaboration across UDit teams to align scheduling of projects and resources
Communicate job expectations and coach employees
Facilitate road map conversations with University divisions to help develop roadmaps

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Project Management or related technical field required
Understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods
Experience mentoring and coaching employees
Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in building and managing detailed project plans
Demonstrated ability to manage resource capacity and estimate timelines

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master's degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Project Management or related technical field required
Professional Project Management Certification from accredited intuition
Demonstrated successful experience having difficult conversations and dealing with conflict
Experience working with diverse teams
Effective interpersonal skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
