The Whitney Humanities Center at Yale is accepting applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship for 2024–25. The fellowship is offered to complement and contribute to the Spring 2025 Franke Seminar in the Humanities: Architectures of Illness. The Center invites applications from scholars in the medical and health humanities working in areas that may include design and biopolitics, the rise of the clinic and clinical spaces, technologies in medicine, the concept of care, architectural forms and healing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in film and/or literature. The fellow will contribute to the Franke Lectures in the Humanities and will have some teaching responsibilities with the Franke Seminar in the Humanities (Spring 2025). This non-renewable fellowship is for ten months (August 1, 2024–May 31, 2025) and carries a stipend of $70,000 and full benefits. The Center invites applications from candidates who will contribute to a community of scholars in an interdisciplinary setting. The Franke Postdoctoral Fellow will be in residence at the Whitney Humanities Center in New Haven for the full academic year 2024–25.
