Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Duties assigned to this title will require an in-depth knowledge of a specialized field, or discipline and may involve organizing and implementing complex research plans, the development of methods of research, testing and data collection, analysis and evaluation, and writing reports containing descriptive, analytical and evaluative content. The duties will require the exercise of independent discretion and judgment in carrying out research activities within the predetermined research scope and methodology. Under general supervision, provides diverse administrative support to senior level manager and completes special projects of a highly skilled nature related to the operations, functions, and activities of the department or division. Reports to the Dean. At the discretion of the Dean, also works with the Associate/Assistant Deans and other departments in the College of Education to provide research and teaching support.

Essential Duties Summary
- Conducting Research in their chosen field of study. This involves designing experiments, collecting data, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions.
- Doctoral research fellows are expected to stay current with the latest developments in their field by conducting thorough literature reviews.
- Planning and designing experiments or studies that are scientifically rigorous and align with the research objectives. This may involve selecting appropriate methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Collecting and organizing data, using appropriate statistical or analytical methods to analyze the data, and interpreting the results. This could involve working with software tools, programming languages, and statistical packages.
- Writing research papers for publication in academic journals and presenting findings at conferences or seminars. Effective communication of research findings is crucial for sharing knowledge and gaining recognition within the academic community.
- Collaborating with other researchers, both within the same institution and from external organizations, to share insights, resources, and expertise. Collaboration can lead to interdisciplinary discoveries and enhance the impact of the research.
- Applying for research funding through grants and proposals to support the research project and secure resources for equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Building professional networks within the academic and research community, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, and engaging in discussions to exchange ideas and stay informed about the latest developments.
- Adhering to ethical guidelines and standards for research conduct, ensuring that all research activities are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.
