Position Summary:

Candidates will be expected to teach our core economic courses, including ECO 202, and Economics in Historical Perspectives, along with conducting electives on their fields of interest.

ECO 202 Introduces students to economics as a social science in which ideas and issues grow out of a historical context. ECO 202 also examines the evolution of the relationships among societies and institutions in different economic systems and highlights the emergence of diverse economic perspectives in their historical context. Principles and tools will be developed and applied for understanding historical and contemporary economic and social issues.

The department expects the ideal candidate to also be attracted to exploring alternative conceptual and ideological perspectives and to contribute to a pluralist economics department and evolving curriculum. The teaching load is four courses a semester, including the core courses in the major and electives.
