Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement

The Office of University Advancement is responsible for developing and managing programs
leading to private gifts, which support and advance the University’s students, alumni, faculty
and programs. The staff identifies potential donors, educates alumni, parents, friends,
corporations and foundations about the financial needs of Kettering University and conducts
solicitations to meet those needs. University Advancement also serves as the central
coordinator for all fundraising efforts across campus.

The Assistant Director should possess strong people and writing skills and be able to manage
student employees, parent and alumni volunteers. The Assistant Director will arrange special
promotional events as well as recruit, train and motivate student volunteers within university
community as needed.

Job Specific Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree with relevant alumni relations, marketing, non-profit experience. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to maintain confidentiality as well as a proven ability to articulate organizational objectives and development goals. · Ability to work independently and within a team environment.  e. EXCELLENCE: in all we do. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of experience in alumni relations, marketing or public relations in a college or non-profit setting. Duties Strategic planning for the alumni calendar of events and programs. Create and manage marketing materials and deployment through various channels. 

Staff Advisor for the Student Alumni Council (SAC). Attend weekly meetings, coordinate speaker series. Project lead for Senior Class celebrations, and alumni/student networking or mentoring events. 

Oversee and manage web, social media, and communications content (including People Grove Alumni CRM) for the Alumni Engagement Office. 

Partner with the KGMIAA Board of Directors and assist them with communications of benefits program and committee work. Committee’s include: Services and Benefits, Alumni Involvement, Student Recruitment, Alumni Awards and Events.
