Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Faculty - Biology is located in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is a part-time position, and is open for recruitment.

COMPENSATION:
Salary: $833.33 per credit course taught
Estimated Hours per Week: 3 hours
Dates/Times - Day, night and weekend classes; various times available

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in biology or a biology related discipline or a master's degree or higher in medical or health related discipline (i.e. M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S.), or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a biological or life science area.
- Acceptable disciplines and coursework include but are not limited to: agricultural sciences (i.e. agronomy), anatomy, biochemistry, biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, biology/science education (maximum of 6 graduate semester hours can be applied to the 18 graduate semester hours required), biomedical sciences, biosciences, biotechnology, botany, cancer biology, cell biology, conservation-wildlife/plant/animal, exercise science, exercise physiology, evolutionary biology, embryology, entomology, environmental science, environmental biology, ecology, genetics, immunology, limnology, mammalogy, marine sciences, marine biology, medical sciences, microbiology - soil/medical/veterinary, molecular biology, mycology, physiology, neurobiology, neuroscience, nutritional sciences, ornithology, pathology, pathophysiology, parasitology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, physical therapy, physiology, plant and animal sciences, public health epidemiology/infectious disease/toxicology, veterinary sciences, virology, zoology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in biology or a biology related discipline or a master's degree or higher in a medical or health related discipline (i.e. M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S.), or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a biological or life science area.
Part-time faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned and promotion of a collegial atmosphere. Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Faculty report directly to the department chair within their respective departments and divisions.
Examples of Work
The Department of Sciences seeks adjunct instructors to teach Biology courses. Adjunct instructors are hired by the department, the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and Baton Rouge Community College on a term-by-term basis as needed.
