Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing internal support for the grateful patient
major gifts fundraising program, University of Pennsylvania Health
System development team. Duties will be project-related and will
focus on prospect identification, cultivation, stewardship, donor
relations, proposal preparation, data management, and event/meeting
coordination in support of the major gifts program focused on
several medical departments.
Stewardship. Produce and/or coordinate stewardship
reports/activities for donors, including annual reports, thank you
letters, recognition pieces, faculty meetings. Ensure accurate
recording of gifts and communication with donors and
Proposal/letter writing and coordination of briefing materials.
Responsible for the drafting of select gift proposals, assisting
gift officers with regard to the drafting of invitation letters,
reports, select correspondence, and briefing materials for faculty,
development colleagues, and institutional leadership.
Cultivation. Work collaboratively with the major gifts team to
provide support in the identification and cultivation of new
Prospect Management. Maintain primary responsibility for the
tracking and management of prospect and gift data, including the
retrieval of data and production of reports.
Volunteer Involvement. Working with the gift officers staffing the
various areas of Penn Medicine, provide assistance with the
production of materials and logistical arrangements for advisory
Special Events. Work with major gifts team to help plan, staff and
coordinate meetings and special events related to prospect/donor
activity as needed.
Bachelors degree and 1-3 years relevant experience in fast-paced
or equivalent combination of education and experience required,
preferably in institutional development, with exposure to prospect
management, annual giving, major gifts, volunteer management, and
stewardship. Exposure to medical fundraising highly desired.
Strong administrative experience and the ability to establish
objectives and organize a successful approach to achieving
