The Department of Chemistry at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2024 for a two-year appointment. The successful applicant will teach lecture and laboratory sections of core courses in General Chemistry and Chemical Measurement & Analysis. The opportunity to teach an upper-level course in the applicant’s area of expertise may be possible. Excellent facilities for research are available, including a dedicated research laboratory and access to a rich array of instrumentation. The opportunity also exists, at the candidate’s discretion, to establish student research collaborations. The successful applicant will have a broad background in chemistry and possess strong teaching, writing, and interpersonal skills. Strong candidates will demonstrate their aptitude for this environment in their application materials by reflecting on their teaching and mentoring experiences to date, and describing their plans for the future.
Applications must include a cover letter, a CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, a summary of research interests, and a statement concerning mentoring a diverse student body. PhD or ABD required.
