The Associate Director, Athletic Giving is a vital member of our dynamic and expanding Advancement team at Bucknell. Collaborating with our dedicated head coaches and our Marketing, Strategy, and Outreach (MSO) team, this role is focused on increasing athletic gifts between $2,500 to $10,000. This position will play a key role supporting the Department of Athletics & Recreation's effort to "Drive for Five" - raising $5 million annually in Bison Club support by 2027. In this role you will:
  • Focus on increasing athletic gifts between $2,500 to $10,000
  • Develop and implement sport-specific giving strategies and programs as well as effective parent-giving programs. Partner with coaches to fundraise for sport-specific needs.
  • Manage a portfolio and build relationships with current and prospective donors, alumni and parents to support athletics programs and priorities.
  • Strategically increase athletics' gifts and develop a robust prospect pipeline of parents and alumni.
  • In partnership with MSO team, develop direct response marketing and fundraising appeals to increase athletic giving such as emails, letters and communications.
  • Travel, on occasion, to meet with donors, alumni and parents (approximately 10%)

What we're looking for someone with:
  • Bachelor's degree and four years of successful experience in fundraising, sales, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising in collegiate sports
  • Demonstrates ability to professionally represent Bucknell and communicate effectively with various diverse audiences including board members, coaches, donors, faculty/staff and University leadership
  • Willingness to travel (including air travel to major metropolitan areas)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven success in a higher education annual giving or advancement program
  • Proven success building revenue generating programs
  • Experience in athletics fundraising or related role
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules compliance, as well as familiarity with NCAA Division I athletic programs

This position (and all positions in our division) requires the occasional evening and weekend work to support university events including Homecoming & Family Weekend, Reunion Weekend, and large Career events. Additionally, the Associate Director will collaborate with the Senior Associate AD to develop a calendar of games and events for attendance. We do ask staff to mark their calendars in advance for these events.

Work Type:

This is a full-time, staff exempt, benefits-eligible position.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.

Salary Range:

This is a staff exempt position with a hiring range of $72,640-90,800 (E11). The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
