Job Summary/Basic Functions

Position will plan, organize, and implement world-class educational programs in a K-12 laboratory school environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, and helps the school and University meet established goals. Interventionist will ensure that each student will grow to his/her greatest intellectual ability, emotional development and psychological well-being. Additionally, the teacher will mentor and instruct university students working and observing at Model for experiential learning assignments. Teachers must also meet physical requirements such as standing, walking and lifting at least 40 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Experience:

Licensure & Certifications: Master's degree with Kentucky certificate for both elementary teacher and special education LBD teacher

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful experience as a special education teacher, especially with intervention strategies for behavioral challenges

Job Duties:
  • 80% - Design and implement innovative and research-based instruction for students utilizing intervention strategies. - (Essential)
  • 10% - General supervision and mentoring and instruction of university pre-service teachers - (Essential)
  • % - Remain current with required training and professional development - (Essential)
