Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Director, Teaching, Learning, & Educational Technology provides leadership for teaching and learning programs in the Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning (FCT&L). The Director will work with the FCT&L staff and stakeholders to support the activities of the Center and collaborate with a variety of campus constituencies to improve and enhance both classroom teaching and student learning and to foster a culture in which effective teaching is valued and rewarded.

The Director develops and implements communication, programs, and professional development for internal and external users in support of successful, effective, and responsive teaching, learning, and educational technology programming. The Director ensures that programming aligns with the priorities and needs of faculty, staff, and the University community, while ensuring appropriate technology is employed and appropriate for user/educator/learner needs, and provides both technical and digital pedagogy assistance as needed.

The Director oversees related web and media presences in collaboration with appropriate constituencies and support networks. In addition to ensuring all technology and media is fully operational at all times, the Director assists with long-term planning related to educational technology and media decisions that support and evolve the centers, programs, and initiatives and its programs' missions and visions.

The Director executes assigned projects, provides excellent customer service, keeps up-to-date, and makes recommendations regarding new and emerging educational approaches, technologies, and media.

The Director supervises scheduling and distribution of teaching and learning programs, along with cross-unit collaboration with allied programs.

The Director leads efforts regarding teaching and learning, educational technology, program design, program implementation, academic innovation, and distribution of pedagogical resources. The Director also leads faculty and student teams to support innovative instruction that directly enhances the academic experience at EKU in areas of teaching and learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree required

Experience: Four years of related experience required
