Lecturer - Genetics and Biochemistry

The Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month Lecturer position for the instruction and development of undergraduate teaching laboratories and classroom courses in genetics and biochemistry.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach all sections of the introductory laboratory course and support lecture courses in both Genetics and Biochemistry. This position will work closely with the Teaching Laboratory Manager and Graduate Teaching Assistants and be expected to update and revise current laboratory courses and implement new courses as the department expands. The applicant will also be expected to participate in our undergraduate and graduate advising/mentoring programs.

The start date is preferably Fall 2024 but is negotiable. This is a renewable, non-tenure track position with opportunity for promotion. Salary level will be commensurate with education and experience and a benefits package is included.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field

• Demonstrated experience in teaching both laboratory and lecture courses in Genetics and Biochemistry

• Enthusiasm for teaching undergraduates and evidence of excellence in teaching and pedagogy or the potential to develop excellence
