Research Assistant in the Division of Social Science [Social Research and Public Policy] - Dr. Anju

The Global Care Policy Index (GCPI) project in the Division of Social Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to support the project in its goal to assess how well individual countries’ labor and social policies support and protect paid and unpaid care providers within their borders.

The successful applicant will support all aspects of the GCPI project. Having already scored more than 30 countries, the project is shifting its efforts to analyze the original data collected and generate several papers. The candidate will be involved in scoring additional countries on their policies protecting unpaid family care providers and paid domestic workers, preparing country reports for the various countries that have been scored, managing the updating of the project website where all country reports and updates are posted, analyzing care policy data to assist with drafting papers based on the findings.

The candidate will work primarily with NYUAD Professor Anju Paul who leads the GCPI project, but will also interact with an international network of care scholars in the USA, Brazil, Colombia, Canada and France who are using the GCPI rubric to score their own countries.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a social science field. Fluency in English writing and reading is essential, while fluency in at least one other language is preferred. Prior experience analyzing social or labor policies, and writing policy reports, is also required.
