Job Description:

The Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University invites applications for Events and Communications Coordinator for the Saxena Center for Contemporary South Asia.

The Events and Communications Coordinator takes primary responsibility for events and communications production for the Saxena Center for Contemporary South Asia. This position reports to the Program Manager, and supports day-to-day operations within the center, while managing special projects assigned by the Director and the Program Manager.

The coordinator is the primary point person arranging catering, media services, booking event spaces, and all logistical aspects of event coordination, with a strong attention to detail and customer focus. The position designs, produces, and distributes digital content and graphics for social media campaigns, events, reports, and center marketing as needed. The position is also responsible for hiring, training, and supervising student workers for events and communications functions, as well as providing ongoing operational and logistical support to the center.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years administrative experience; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new software, programs, and manage online content as needed.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to coordinate events and logistics.

  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
