Job Description

The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for leading and assisting small and large groups of campers in a variety of activities. The activities include gallery tours, art-making projects, games, scavenger hunts, and performances during the summer camp season. Counselors help to foster a fun and positive learning environment by facilitating friendships and teamwork among campers while acting as a mentor.

Duties:

Lead and assist small and large groups of campers in a variety of activities, including gallery tours, art-making projects, games, scavenger hunts, and performances. Foster a fun and positive learning environment by facilitating friendships and teamwork among campers while acting as a mentor.

Qualifications:
  • Enthusiasm and experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • Competence in teaching and administrative work
  • Patience, creativity, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility a must
  • Completed college degree with background in education, anthropology, archaeology, history or art preferred, but not required
  • Completed clearances preferred: Child abuse history, PA criminal record, and FBI criminal history
  • Must be willing to closely follow CDC and Museum safety guidelines for masking, distancing, room capacities, and hand washing/cleaning.


Full-time position for a fixed term (June 19 to August 25, 2023)

Hourly Rate: $15.00
