Bucknell University's Department of Economics invites interested candidates at the Assistant Professor level to apply for a tenure-track position beginning in the fall semester of 2024. The successful candidate will have the ability to pursue a high-quality research program in at least one of the following areas: public economics, urban or regional economics, poverty, antitrust, and the economics of education. The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching of economic principles and electives in their area of interest.

Bucknell is committed to supporting the teacher-scholar model of faculty development. The teaching load is 5 courses per year and the student-faculty ratio is 9:1. The university sponsors a range of activities to support the development of its faculty, including a Teaching and Learning Center and mentoring resources.

Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Economics, although candidates nearing completion of their doctoral work will be considered. The application should include (1) a cover letter, (2) a curriculum vita, (3) a teaching portfolio (a statement of teaching philosophy, course evaluations and syllabi if available), (4) a research statement and research sample, (5) a statement describing past experience, training, or engagement with issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including efforts to work with and support students in an inclusive manner and incorporating topics related to diversity into your courses, and (6) official graduate school transcripts if recently graduated. Minimum Qualifications:
By the start date of the position, candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. or be ABD in Economics.

Work Type:
This posiiton is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible, tenure track faculty position.
