$20.19 - $23.08 per hour
Pay rates at Syracuse University are based on a combination of
factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities;
the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key
competencies; the university’s strategic priorities; internal peer
equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, grant funding and
contractual requisites; and external market analyses.
Standard University business hours:
8:30am – 5:00pm (academic year)
8:00am – 4:30pm (summer)
Hours may vary based on operational needs.

The administrative assistant will provide general administrative
support to the Dean’s Office in essential office functions
including assisting with human resource processes, payroll and
budget transactions. Processing part-time instructor postings and
hires through the Access and JobOpps databases. This position is
the main reception for the Dean’s Office, answers main phone line
for the Dean’s Office, orders office supplies, gifts and assists
with events. the successful candidate must be professional,
dependable and maintain confidentiality. This position will work
under the supervision of the Dean’s Executive Assistant and the
Director of Budget.
Two-year degree with 3-5 years’ experience in administrative work,
preferable in an academic environment. Four-year degree

Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with
- Human Resource and payroll transactions.
- Part-time instructor job postings, accurate database entry and
- Assist with PERs, PARs, PIN Raps, Smart Hires and terms.
- PIN and chart string changes.
- Act as back-up support for the Executive Assistant to the
- Answer multiple phone lines and greet visitors to the Dean’s
- Order office supplies and purchase gifts.
- Reconcile Dean’s Office credit cards and process reimbursement
- Maintain the College listservs, org charts and faculty/staff
- Order catering for Dean’s Office meetings and events.
- Assist with College events.
- Other duties as assigned.
