Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible
transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your

Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical
psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational
counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family
therapy or marriage, family and child counseling.
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service
in a community college in the appropriate subject matter
The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related
education, training, employment and professional experience that
would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this
field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

(NOTE: A bachelor’s degree in one of the listed degrees and a
license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative
qualification for this discipline.)
One year of experience in community college athletics
Two years of experience, including both counseling and
Demonstrated knowledge and competency of community college
counseling with specific knowledge in areas such as transfer and
articulation, probation, career and technical education, STEM, and
other unique areas of counseling.
Demonstrated knowledge of career development counseling
theory/principles and the use of career assessment tools.
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules to enable
student-athletes to compete, graduate, and transfer to a
Experience complying with rules and regulations for transfer to
Division 1, 2, 3, and NAIA universities.
Experience providing insight on student-athlete progress utilizing
academic alert systems.
Experience creating/counseling new and existing student-athletes
regarding educational plans, and academic and career goals to
ensure compliance with NCAA and NAIA rules and regulations.
Experience monitoring academic progress of student-athletes in
alignment with District pathways and resources.
Demonstrated success in supporting students from historically
underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, using culturally
responsive pedagogical techniques.
Salary Range: $58.79 - $64.51 per hour

Special Instructions Summary: This recruitment will
remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening
date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary
faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill
