Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of Program Assistant on the Clarkston Campus.

General Responsibilities:

The position supports the Clarkston Campus and the College's efforts in providing the very best educational opportunities possible; provides intake services to students, staff, faculty and the community. This position is vital to continued student success as well as supporting potential students on the Clarkston Campus.

Essential Functions:

Customer Service and Administrative Services

  • Support to current students, potential students, faculty, staff and community members by providing excellent customer service; assist with college applications, registration, bookstore, and other student support services.

  • Clerical Duties

  • General office duties such as making calls, sending and receiving emails, making copies, filing, appointment scheduling, utilizing mail machine and other office equipment, sorting and delivering mail.

  • Competencies

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, and a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills. Effectively organize multiple assignments, sometimes of a complex nature or involving competing priorities, to produce work products that are accurate, thorough, and on time.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform job duties with or without direction and to work and thrive independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain positive professional working relationships.

  • Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must not be a current WWCC student

  • Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Clerical experience
  • Experience with computers and word processing software
  • Customer Service experience

    This part-time temporary position (up to 17-hours per week) is located at the Clarkston Campus. Vacation, sick leave and personal leave benefits are available on a pro-rated basis.

    Work is completed inside an office environment with some exception. This position works a flexible schedule during college operating hours. College hours are generally Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. This position requires minimal travel. There may be the local in-town travel and the occasional training opportunity outside of the area. This position is often the first point of contact for students, employees and community members on the Clarkston Campus and interacts with a diverse population. Contact may be in person, phone or electronically.

    Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Candidates may be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition of employment.
