Assistant Coach, Athletics

The Athletic Department Assistant Coach is under the supervision of
the the Athletic Director and will serve as a liaison within the
Athletic Department. This position will work with a diverse
community of student athletes and support student success measures
in living-learning environments by building relationships,
promoting engagement and leading with an ethic of care. The
Athletic Department Assistant Coach will comply with all policies,
procedures and conditions in the current edition of the Student
Handbook, Residence Hall License Agreement, Housing Resource Guide,
the Resident Advisor Employment Agreement and written expectations
provided by the supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Head Basketball and Head Volleyball Coaches in
planning, managing and evaluating Lee College athletic
Assist the Head Basketball and Head Volleyball Coached in
teaching, training and monitoring members of the intercollegiate
Assist in monitoring classroom attendance and study halls.
Assist with summer camps.
Assist with ensuring equipment and practice facilities are set
up and removed.
Attend and assist with on court practices as required by the
Offer proper motivation and guidance for student athletes to
achieve success on and off the court.
Assist in athletic event management by scheduling staff,
preparing tickets and signs, preparing and balancing cash box if
applicable, reserving lockers rooms, preparing the sound room and
approving music to be played.
Facilitate student athlete engagement by creating an inclusive
welcoming environment, being visible and available to student
athletes, providing opportunities to interact; conducting community
hall meetings and education on community standards.
Hold athletes accountable to the athletic and residential
Attend and participate in all fall and spring training
Complete all trainings by the appointed deadline.
Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
Assist with department-sponsored events like move in and Lee
Be present and provide assistance in respond to crises and
Abide by College and NJCAA policies and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
The Assistant Coach position is a full academic year commitment.
The expectation is that the majority of time for this position will
be spent interacting with student athletes. The Assistant Coach is
expected to work a flexible schedule and be available to meet the
needs of the Athletic Department. The Assistant Coach must request
and received approval from the supervisor for weekend or extended
absences from residence.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills &
One (1) year of related or comparable work experience.
Must complete a successful background check prior to the start
of employment. This is a security-sensitive position.
Must return to campus prior to the official opening of both the
fall and spring semesters and must remain after the official
closing of both and fall and spring semesters.
Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, and
weekends as needed
