Position Summary

The Career Pathways & STEP program is hiring a full-time Education Coordinator to work in a fast paced and student focused environment. This position will represent the Career Pathways and STEP department at outreach and recruitment events to educate community members and PCC staff about the services and benefits of the Career Pathways and STEP programs. This position will work to recruit students for specific cohort programs; hosting information sessions for large and small groups, following up and supporting students one-on-one, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. This position must provide a welcoming presence while working with very diverse populations and have an understanding of the barriers students face in order to help them reach their educational goals. This position will be based out of the Southeast campus but will travel frequently to meet with students, staff and community members.

  • Ability to accurately and enthusiastically communicate about PCC programs and resources either one-on-one or in small and large groups.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds who face a variety of barriers to accessing higher education.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve shared program goals. Independently organize and manage frequently evolving projects by using time-management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong and positive communication skills in order to work well in a team setting.
  • Experience with various computer applications such as Excel, Google Suite and shared online drives.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, a Social Science discipline, or related field.
  • Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
  • Two years of experience in an educational or training environment is required, to include experience working with at-risk and/or culturally diverse populations and experience leading or supervising staff.

$56,401.00 to $60,422.00 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Incumbents may regularly drive between campuses and remote sites, requiring the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle. Physical exertion is not a normal requirement of this job.
