About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

The Admissions Communications Team is a hybrid marketing and communications team which blends traditional and digital marketing efforts with a focus on communication strategy. We are an agile and flexible team that aims to enable better storytelling by stronger reporting and strategic analysis of our marketing and communications efforts. Reporting to the Director of Admissions Communications, the Associate Director is responsible for working across traditional and digital marketing and communication channels, including web, social media, email, and other media; complex direct mail campaigns, print collateral; advertising; and event marketing.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Creating, maintaining, and leading a complex communication strategy for the promotion of three UG campuses in Oakland, London, and Boston, including for programs such as NU Immerse, Torch, Foundation Year, and Pre-College Programs. The communication strategy includes email, print, social, and event promotion.
  • Strategically leading the digital marketing efforts including maintaining the admissions website, social media efforts, and supporting the photography/videography strategy. This includes working with the Director and team to understand if requests fit into the AdComm strategy, working with the programs to gather, cultivate, and create content, and then implementing requests in line with strategy.
  • Building emails, managing content with partners, taking on email approver assignments, and other daily activities and initiatives within the team.
  • Acting as an account manager for partners, leading them through review and approval processes, and ensuring buy-in and collaboration.
  • Taking a proactive approach to kicking off projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met, and navigating a sometimes-challenging process.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in communications related field, with 6-8 years of experience in communications and/or marketing. Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, strong knowledge of English grammar and an ability to work collaboratively while supporting multiple projects
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations is critical
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
