Duties and Responsibilities

This is a PART - TIME position. ~25 Hours per week.
  • Budget Oversight and Management (30% ) Develop and manage the program’s budget in alignment with the MBDA grant specifications. Monitor program expenses regularly, ensuring they remain within the allocated budget. Liaise with the Office of Research and Sponsored Program department to follow financial and grant reporting procedure, deliverables and ensure accurate financial reporting. Provide monthly budget updates to the PO and relevant stakeholders, highlighting any potential areas of concern or opportunities for savings
  • Program Support and Strategy (25%) Provide support to all program functions, aiming for the efficient and effective realization of objective and milestones detailed in the MBDA grant, Building Businesses @ BSU program. Draft, review, and distribute crucial documents and briefs that outline project plans, strategies, objectives, timelines, and milestones.
  • Data Collection and Reporting (20%) Collect, evaluate, and interpret relevant data to inform program decisions. Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with the grant’s requirements. Ensure all relevant grant metrics are diligently recorded, tracked, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Training (10% ) Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and roll out educational and training programs geared toward student success in the Building Businesses @ BSU program. Champion and oversee marketing initiatives to elevate the profile and reach of the Building Businesses @ Bowie program.
  • Meetings and Briefings (10%) Represent the EIC in briefings and meetings, particularly those related to project costs, schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Additional tasks as assigned (5%) Engage in other tasks and initiatives as directed by the Project Officer (PO) to ensure the successful implementation and progression of the Building Business @ BSU project.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience in program analysis, grant management or a closely related role preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget development, oversight, and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience working with university programs or minority business development initiatives preferred,
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Proficient in using data analytics tools and software.
  • Knowledge of business processes and startup ventures.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as and Trello or related software.
Conditions of Employment

· Must be able to work evenings and occasional weekends.
