Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible
transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your
application will be deemed incomplete and removed from

§ 53412. Minimum Qualifications for Instructors of Basic Skills
Except as provided elsewhere in this article, the minimum
qualifications for service as a faculty member teaching a noncredit
course shall be the same as the minimum qualifications for credit
instruction in the appropriate discipline, or as follows:
Bachelor’s degree in English, literature, comparative literature,
composition, linguistics, speech, creative writing, or
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and
twelve semester units of coursework in teaching reading.
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service
in a community college in the appropriate subject matter
The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related
education, training, employment and professional experience that
would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this
field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college
students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to
demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded
practices within the classroom.
Experience in teaching high school subjects or High School
Equivalency courses in English and Spanish (bilingual).
Demonstrated success in helping students from historically
underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional
students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning

Salary Range: $58.00 - 63.64 per hour
