JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Director is responsible for managing operational excellence with the day to day transactions that occur within the HR department. This position will provide guidance to staff and faculty utilizing associated human resources expertise in areas of talent recruitment & retention and employee development & engagement. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws, supporting the institution's mission and policies while creating and supporting a positive work environment for staff, faculty and students. This role will serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees on issues related to EEO, ADA, performance, grievances and serve as the college’s Deputy Title IX and 504 Coordinator. This position reports into the Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and will manage three (3) direct reports (HR Generalist, Employment Specialist, & HR Coordinator).

br>RESPONSIBILITIES


HR Operational Management:

· Develop and implement HR operational strategies for day to day transactions that align with the HR & DEI divisional goals and priorities.
· Manage the HR Operations team (HR Generalist, Employment Specialist, & HR Coordinator). to ensure operational excellence of all day to day HR support and transactions.
· Ensure HCM system technology is running smoothly and continuously being improved upon for HR administrative processes.
· Collaborate with managers and employees to ensure HR initiatives support academic and administrative departments.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

· Oversee the recruitment and selection process for all positions, including but not limited to faculty and staff.
· Develop and implement effective recruitment and sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
· Ensure compliance with EEO, federal, state and local regulations.

Employee Relations:

· Act as the primary contact and resource to manage conflict resolution and provide guidance on employee related matters.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a positive workplace culture.
· Serve as the primary point of contact and handle employee grievances and investigations.

Compensation, Benefits and Payroll

In collaboration with the Compensation and Benefits Manager and Payroll Manager):

· Provide guidance and support regarding the institutional compensation and benefits programs (including but not limited to medical, dental, supplemental benefits, retirement benefits, PTO, leave administration, tuition reimbursement, etc.)
· Analyze and recommend competitive salary and benefits packages as needed.
· Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding compensation and payroll practices.

Performance Management:

· Manage all performance management processes, including performance evaluations and feedback mechanisms.
· Provide training and support to managers on performance management best practices.

Training and Development:

· Identify training and development needs for employees and implement programs to address them.
· Collaborate with all departments to support faculty and staff development.
· Develop and manage all required HR training for faculty and staff.

Employee Engagement:

· Create and manage Rewards and Recognition programs for staff employees
· Create Professional Development program for staff employees.
· HR representative on the College’s Council of Staff Affairs (COSA) and Continuous Improvement Team Representative

Compliance and Reporting:

· Create, report and manage a HR Scorecard that evaluates HR metrics.
· Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
· Prepare and submit required HR reports to regulatory agencies.

Institutional Equity and DE&I

· Develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives to promote a diverse and equitable workforce.
· Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Deputy 504 Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum (required)
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Administration, or a related field.
· Five (5) years of professional Human Resources experience.
· Three (3) years of supervisory experience of HR professionals.
· Two (2) years of experience working in a HCM system.

Preferred:
· Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR).
· Seven (7) years of professional Human Resources experience.
· Five (5) years of supervisory experience of HR professionals.
· HR experience in higher education.
· Experience using and implementing Oracle Cloud HCM system.
