Position Summary:
The Office of the General Counsel is seeking a part-time remote Law Clerk to assist in various legal projects and assignments. The candidate should have prior legal experience in a higher education setting and be currently enrolled or applying to law schools.

This is a remote position.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree

Required Skills or Software:
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2016, Basic Knowledge of MS Excel 2016, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • One (1) year of legal experience working in a General Counsel’s Office or higher education legal office.
  • Currently enrolled in law school or in the process of applying to law school.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to work independently and produce exceptional work under deadlines.
  • Experience drafting legal documents. Able to exercise good professional judgment, abide by the Office of General Counsel confidentiality expectations, and appropriately consult with and seek attorney review.
  • Possess good common sense and approach projects and assignments practically. Able to aptly assess potential legal risks or exposure.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice or legally related field.
