Job Summary/Basic Function

The Program Coordinator works with the Center’s director to provide support and guidance to international students and also provide support and guidance to students and faculty interested in study abroad programs.

  • Work with faculty and students on study abroad programs.
  • Assist in placement of Fulbright scholars and transient international students.
  • Assist international students with the paperwork needed to apply for jobs on campus and applying for social security card.
  • Assist with budget operations.
  • Assist in developing and planning events and activities.
  • Perform minor software and hardware tasks, which may include setting up computers and peripherals, readying computers for specific purposes, setting up computer projectors.
  • Perform clerical and office management duties, including the creation, processing, and safe-keeping of records and reports; manage/maintain the Center’s web accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and the Center’s webpage).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

  • Knowledge of the general functions, policies, and procedures of a complex organization (e.g., an educational institution).
  • Knowledge of some rules and regulations related to international students’ studying in the US.

  • Excellent communication and public relation skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; and ability to retain confidentiality.
  • Ability to use computer software such as MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and appreciation for the diversity of the members of the University (including academic, ethnic, socio-economic, physical, and gender)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Office management experience of at least three years.
  • Experience with managing study abroad programs.
  • Working knowledge of at least one foreign language.
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Planned and implemented study abroad programs.
