Full or Part-time:
Responsible for student instruction and supervision in theater
areas in the form of traditional classroom, online/remote
modalities or applied theater practice. Faculty will work directly
with lead faculty to meet course and program objectives.
Responsible for upholding and supporting course and program
1. Instructs students in assigned classes.
2. Provides academic guidance and counseling to students in
cooperation with Student Affairs Personnel.
3. Maintains academic and programmatic standards.
4. Monitors student progress.
5. Keeps adequate and accurate records, utilizing methods
prescribed or suggested by the Academic Affairs Unit.
6. Completes student grading, assessment and reporting according to
college procedures in a timely manner.
7. Participates in departmental productions and/or technical
direction when relevant .
Other duties as assigned.
Under the direct supervision of the Department Chair, each
part-time faculty member is responsible for satisfying the
educational, administrative, and fiscal requirements inherent in
Master of Fine Arts Degree or higher is required in relevant
discipline or subfield; in addition, performing, theater education,
and/or design or technical theater experience is required. Bachelor
of Fine Arts or BS with 18 or more additional graduate credit hours
in their discipline will be considered.

Part time faculty are not employed directly by Lake Michigan
College, with a few exceptions based on MSPERS retirement program.
