Job Description
Integral member of the University Advancement leadership team. The Assistant Vice Chancellor supports the Vice Chancellor by providing leadership, strategic vision, and oversight for the following areas of University Advancement: Annual Giving, Alumni Association, Endowment Administration, Records, Donor Relations, and Strategic Communications.

Responsibilities Include:
  • In conjunction with university leadership, successfully launch and execute Missouri S&T's next comprehensive campaign
  • Develop and maintain a robust annual giving program maximizing participation and engagement. This includes oversight and administration of Phonathon, online giving, e-solicitations, direct mail, and crowd funding platforms. Regularly assess and refine fundraising approaches, embracing innovative tools and new opportunities for donor engagement.
  • Provide executive leadership for the Miner Alumni Association, an organization with $26M in assets, to the mutual benefit of Missouri S&T. Manage Hasselmann Alumni House. Engage meaningfully with a 60+ member board of elected directors, ensuring priorities align with, and enhance, the university
  • Administer more than $190M of endowments held at Missouri S&T and the Miner Alumni Association. Serve as the liaison between legal entities to minimize exposure. Ensure donor funds are stewarded with highest impact
  • Provide direction and support to the Advancement Services team, ensuring current business practices and resources are optimizing performance for fundraising and campaign success
  • Oversee the maintenance, planning and evaluation of the technology infrastructure necessary to promote and sustain university-wide advancement and alumni relations activities
  • Lead engagement initiatives and comprehensive donor stewardship efforts that deepen relationships with our alumni, corporate partners, and friends. This includes several high-impact campus and off-campus events, strategic communications, and outreach efforts that improve visibility, increase pride, and promote giving to the University
  • Manage several high-performing teams with a keen focus on staff recruitment, enhancement, evaluation, and retention
  • Maintain knowledge of higher education fundraising trends and engage the University Advancement leadership team in those best practices
  • Demonstrate a commitment to mentoring, team sustainability, and professional growth
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in a relevant area and 10 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired OR a Bachelor's degree in a relevant area and 12 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten years of experience in fundraising, outreach and engagement, and/or non-profit work
  • Financial acumen, budgetary experience, and/or significant knowledge of campaign counting best practices
  • Broad understanding and experience with multifaceted campaign planning, implementation, and management
  • Experienced manager
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A willingness to travel, on occasion
  • Outstanding social skills, discretion, and judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships with academic leaders, external constituents, and a diverse team
  • Understanding of a research university environment
