SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervised by the Chief of Police, Office Manager, and Police Officers on duty.
SHIFT: 10:30PM-6:30AM every other Friday and Saturday; Additional fill-in shifts as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Police Dispatcher is responsible for receiving calls placed to Campus Police and dispatching campus police officers as needed. In addition, this individual is responsible for other duties as assigned by the Chief, Office Manager or Captain
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming calls from campus/off campus.
- Monitor alarms received at Campus Police Headquarters and
dispatch Police, EMS or Fire.
- Enter relative information into the computer aided dispatch
system.
- Dispatch Police, EMS or Fire via radio as needed.
- Notifies FMPC on-call staff for facilities related
matters.
- Notifies Student Affairs on-call staff per Campus
Police/Student Affairs protocol for student involved matters.
- Complete other reports as needed.
- Enter required data including parking ticket and charges.
- Assist in the issuance of new or replacement student IDs.
- Assist in troubleshooting card access issues and re-set card
access for locations on campus.
- Review the special events book and verify card access is set
accordingly if required.
- Issue temporary parking passes for visitors.
- Work extended shifts when required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
