Position Summary: Washburn University's Family and Human Services Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. Essential Functions:
• Teach 12 credit hours per semester or a full workload as defined by the faculty handbook.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate Family and Human Services courses in assigned modalities (e.g., online, hybrid, face-to-face, Zoom, etc.).
• Advise students, maintain office hours in accordance with policy, attend meetings, and engage in service activities in the Department, the School of Applied Studies, the University, the profession, and the community.
• Fulfill expectations associated with a tenure-track appointment for scholarship.

Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. (or ABD, with the degree granted by June 15, 2024) in Family and Human Services or a related field (e.g., Human Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Couple and Family Therapy, Social Work).
• Specialization in human development or gerontology, as shown by college-level teaching, research, or training.
• Post-secondary teaching experience in academic or professional settings.
• Demonstrated commitment to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience teaching research methods or mentoring student research projects.
• Experience with learning management systems (e.g., D2L, Blackboard, Canvas) for online education.
• Certificate in Family Life Education (CFLE) with the National Council on Family Relations.
• Master's or higher license issued by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board or with demonstrated reciprocity in Kansas (e.g., LMAC, LCAC, LMSW, LMFT, LPC, LMLP).
