Title: Coordinator of Academic Affairs Initiatives

Job Summary:

This position assists with the development and creation of each term's schedule of classes, provides TN eCampus faculty support, and serves as the College's Perkins Coordinator. The coordinator works closely with all divisions and departments in Academic Affairs to ensure accurate information and support is available for faculty, staff, and students.

Job Duties:

Works with division deans and department chairs in the development and modification of course and section scheduling. Serves as the primary point of contact on a range of complex academic scheduling, operational, and administrative issues. This includes, but is not limited to, providing support and training and troubleshooting technical issues. Utilizes several systems, including the College's student information system and course scheduling software, to ensure courses are created and assigned and that the schedule is optimized. Works with the College's Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and the College Registrar to establish deadlines and timelines for academic scheduling processes and ensures workflows and procedures are communicated and followed, including rolling previous schedules, activating new terms, and ensuring scheduling consistency between the College's student information system and scheduling software. Establishes and implements workflow patterns and standard operating procedures to accommodate academic course/section scheduling requirements. Serves as the primary contact for TN eCampus faculty processes, questions, and issues, Including: Monitors the TN eCampus schedule and student enrollments. Communicates with academic division leadership and TN eCampus personnel to maintain enrollment targets and accurate staffing details. Manages faculty credentials, training records, and class evaluations. Includes frequent collaboration with academic division deans; human resources; and TN eCampus. Ensures proper alignment between Vol State's course schedule, catalog, and calendar and TN eCampus. Serves as the College's Perkins Coordinator. Prepares various academic reports in various formats and creates/oversees preparation and electronic transmissions of various reports. Provides support for a variety of Academic Affairs' initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
Three years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with computerized student information systems.
Experience in higher education.
Experience with academic course scheduling.
Experience using Ellucian Banner and Ad Astra software.
Experience with TN eCampus.
Experience with the Perkins grant or other grants.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to problem solve.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office applications, Internet, and web-based application software systems.
Skills in oral and written communications; interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Ability to learn new technology skills and software packages quickly.
Ability to troubleshoot, recognize and solve problems with software programs for end users.
Ability to read and utilize technical manuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff to derive solutions to technology issues.
Ability to initiate objectives with minimal supervision.
Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situation and making decisions.

Pay Rate: $42,210 - $52,763 annual salary depending on experience
