Network Director-Southeastern Rural Cancer Care Network and Oncology Navigator (ON)

Job Description: The Network Director for the HRSA-23-123 award, Achieving Health Equity for Rural Cancer Patients through Navigation, Care Coordination, and access to Clinical Trials in Southeast

Georgia will manage the implementation of activities within rural network locations by collaborating with a Regional Project Director and Oncology Nurse Navigator focusing clinical care coordination activities in

Southeast Georgia. The duties of the overall “Data Coordinator” fall under the Cancer Patient Navigators of Georgia (CPNG) Network Director who will compile data from each network member into the reporting necessary to fulfill HRSA’s reporting requirements. The Network Director leads operational committee meetings and co-leads partnership committee meetings. The Network Director manages statewide navigation services activities along with the clinical care coordination activities occurring with the Southeast Georgia oncology practices. To ensure the delivery of statewide navigation and networking resources to the medically underserved Southeast Georgia region, this individual will also oversee the CPNG program.


I. Network Director and Navigation program management – 80%

· Responsible for overall network monitoring and will oversee the administrative, fiscal, and business operations of the Southeastern Rural Cancer Care (SRCC) Network grant program.

Manage the daily functions of the SRCC network and be responsible for deliverables.

· Contribute to the success and program sustainability of the SRCC network by building relationships with network members and the community. Moving the members towards value-based care and population health management.

· Contribute to the success of the CPNG network by encouraging collaboration and engagement of members.

· Manage the activities of the CPNG network by drafting and publishing a monthly newsletter; communicating with navigators throughout the state; managing the online community of navigators via Teams (or other platforms); organizing and overseeing the annual Fall navigation meeting with GASCO; organizing networking events with navigators; maintaining the local navigator network status through the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators; regional and state levels to create value-added programs for navigators; and researching and providing members with content on industry trends and research findings.

  • Program development and Leadership - 20%

  • · Assist with maintenance activities including interim and annual progress reports.

    · Approves and responds to requests for documentation on the grant.

    · Responds to technical reviews or site visits relating to the SRCC network grant and navigation program .

    · Establishes partnerships with statewide organizations dedicated to sharing resources and

    promoting educational programming about oncology navigation.

    · Maintains professional continuing education, credentials, and licensure.

    Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Bachelor’s degree required in related field, Master’s degree preferred
    • Experience in oncology patient navigation or care coordination
    • Knowledge and experience working in cancer care
    • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively in a team environment
    • Strong self-starter, excellent communication, and organizational skills
    • Capacity to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and obligations
    • Dedication to maintaining positive, open communication and to establish productive, mutually supportive working relationships at multiple levels of the organization
    • Ability to travel 30% of allocated time
    Qualifications :

    Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a related field.
