The EA will be responsible for managing the Dean's sensitive calendaring and summarizing and collating reports, emails, agendas, and other information relevant to meetings and engagements. The EA will be responsible for attending, documenting, and distributing Leadership Team meeting outcomes, as well as maintaining future topics. Reporting directly to the Dean, the EA will act as liaison to internal and external constituencies, proactively responding to issues, including those of a sensitive and/or confidential nature. This position may lead and/or serve on College and University committees, as well as organize and execute high-level unit events.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who can take initiative, work independently, and exhibits a high-level of confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Apply strong organizational skills leading to a consistent level of high-quality work while managing multiple priorities
  • Be detail-oriented, thorough, and efficient
  • Have effective collaboration skills to work well with others and enlist support and feedback from others to effectively represent the College
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and foster and maintain trusted relationships with university executives, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and prospective donors.
  • Possess excellent computer skills and have advanced proficiency using Microsoft applications such as Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Typical Requirements:

This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher, plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A proven track record of exercising discretion and excellent judgment, while managing confidential and often highly sensitive information related to budgetary, personnel, and administrative matters, is required. This position may require time that extends after normal office hours. This position typically works onsite, but offers a flexible work arrangement for periodic remote work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community and describe one or more ways they have demonstrated a commitment and ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

Applicants for the position should submit a resume and cover letter. The cover letter should explain the candidate's interest in the position, describe how their background and experience are relevant, and provide evidence of their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) through their work and/or service. References must be provided and should include a supervisor, a colleague with whom the candidate has worked closely on a long-term project or a teammate, as well as a third reference of the candidate's choosing.
