Purdue University’s Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position focused on Human Decision Making. The position will begin in the Fall of 2022. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct original research, mentor students, and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. Qualifications: The candidate must have a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology or a related field by the position start date. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate the ability and/or potential to publish high-quality research, obtain external funding, and excel in teaching and mentoring. We seek candidates who conduct basic and/or applied research in human decision making, broadly defined. The ideal person would use advanced research methods and quantitative approaches to conduct basic research on decision making and also study decision making in applied domains, such as health decision making, organizational decision making, or clinical decision making.

 

The College and University: The Department of Psychological Sciences is the largest department in the College of Health and Human Sciences (http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/), the second-largest college at Purdue. The Psychological Sciences faculty have strong connections with several college- and campus-wide initiatives, including the Center for Research on Brain, Behavior, and NeuroRehabilitation (CEREBBRAL), the Life Science MRI Facility, the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience (PIIN), and the Center on Aging and the Life Course (CALC).

 

Established in 1869, Purdue is Indiana’s land-grant university, a comprehensive educational and research institution and member of the American Association of Universities. The West Lafayette campus, located one hour north of Indianapolis and two hours south of downtown Chicago, has ten academic colleges with an enrollment of 44,500 students from over 133 countries.
