Gettysburg College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Content Strategy. This position works closely with the Director of Content Strategy to advance the national visibility of the College in the marketplace through achieving maximum exposure, awareness, and understanding of the College’s key marketing messages and brand. This position also serves as Communications and Marketing’s liaison to the Office of Admissions, assisting in communications efforts to recruit and retain the most academically talented and diverse students. The position has a dual focus on managing marketing projects and writing and creating content for multiple mediums, including the website, magazine, marketing materials, and social media.


This position performs a variety of writing, editing, research, and other activities to support these efforts, including thinking strategically about how to communicate with various audiences; producing marketing and communications strategies aligned with marketing goals; contributing content for multiple media; working closely with directors of key programs, faculty, and staff members; and working collaboratively with members of the Office of Communications & Marketing as well as the Office of Admissions, serving as a representative to several college-wide committees where an expertise in communications or marketing is needed.


Required qualifications include at least two years of relevant communications experience; a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field; and experience in creating content for web, print, digital, and social platforms. (While professional experience is preferred, internship experience may be considered for otherwise strong applicants.)
