Job Details:The College of Health Professions at Mercer University is seeking applications for an Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Assessment.


Responsibilities:

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University is seeking applications for an Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Assessment. This position requires knowledge, understanding, and experience with: 1) specialized accreditation bodies in health sciences; 2) cultivating and coordinating relationships with partners and programs; and 3) managing and coordinating both undergraduate and graduate level curriculum and program development activities in an institution of higher education.

The Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Assessment ensures that academic, curriculum, and program goals are aligned to the standards and outcomes established in the university and respective specialized accreditation bodies for students pursuing a degree in health professions (BS, MMSc, MPH, MAT, PsyD, DPT, DrPH).

Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health Professions, the Assistant Dean is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and coordination of: 1) program assessment for all undergraduate and graduate programs in the College; 2) accreditation annual reports and self-study reports (e.g., ARC-PA, CEPH, CAATE, APA, CAPTE, ABPTRFE, ACOMPTE); 3) creating processes and assessments to ensure program and curriculum effectiveness; and 4) serving as a liaison within the University and community to enhance the goals and vision of the College of Health Professions.

Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a healthcare field or with an assessment focus.

  • Significant experience with accreditation and assessment required.

  • Proven record of teaching, research/scholarly activity, and service such that the successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment.

  • Demonstrated academic administrative experience in a university setting, collaborative leadership, development, and management skill.

  • Leadership experience and innovation in the area of academic and curriculum development.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.

The College of Health Professions fosters academic and professional excellence in leadership and service through a variety of health science departments: Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Athletic Training, and Kinesiology.

This position will be a 1.0FTE, 12-month appointment based at Mercer University’s Cecil B. Day campus in Atlanta, Georgia, conveniently located near all the amenities of the city and situated on over 250 wooded acres. More information can be found at http://www.mercer.edu/.
