  • The successful candidate will primarily teach in the school psychology graduate programs but will also provide support to the undergraduate program in Psychology and Counseling. This individual will teach courses at the MA and Psy.D. level as well as undergraduate courses in Psychology. The successful candidate will also serve as the coordinator of all field-placements (practicum and internship) for school psychology students.

    Essential Functions:
  • Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
  • Teach 12 credits per semester in the graduate programs in School Psychology and undergraduate program in the Psychology and Counseling Department.
  • Coordinate field-placement for MA/CAGS and doctoral students for their practicum and internship experiences in P-12 schools.
  • Teach in lecture, online, or hybrid modalities.
  • Ability to teach evening courses.
  • Ability to supervise doctoral dissertations and/or serve on dissertation committees for School Psychology Psy.D. students.
  • Participate in ongoing data collection and assessments needed to successfully continue NASP accreditation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues regarding course materials (developing or using common syllabi/course outlines).
  • Participate in departmental functions such as lectures, Open House, etc.
  • Engage in University-wide and departmental service.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • A doctorate in School Psychology is required (ABD with a known completion date can be considered)
  • NJ-Certified School Psychologist (or eligible to become a NJ-Certified School Psychologist)
  • Licensed or licensed-eligible Psychologist in the state of NJ
  • Ability to teach cognitive assessment/intervention, academic assessment/intervention, and statistics/research methods courses
