Job Summary
This position will provides first-line customer service to students, faculty, staff and the general public regarding general parking and transportation matters. The majority of time will be spent patrolling assigned lots/structures and issue parking citations as needed. This position will also provide day-to-day contact, interaction, standard policy/procedural information; and may perform routine problem resolution on matters pertaining to parking and transportation issues.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Upload and download citation information between remote and base computer
  • Perform various parking maintenance work such as layout, paint, and erect signs for temporary, permanent, or special event parking
  • Patrol designated area of campus on foot or in vehicle to enforce parking regulations
  • Answer calls and complaints involving parking violations
  • Requests boot or towing services for illegally parked vehicles
  • Write and issue parking citations
  • Instruct the public in proper use of parking facilities
  • Observe parking and traffic conditions, taking appropriate actions to assist when needed
  • Supervise student employees
  • Monitor productivity and report discrepancies in attendance, output, and other concerns to supervisor
  • Provide leadership and training to students and temporary employees
  • Create and issue special parking permits at the request of the supervisor for events held on campus
  • Schedule events in electronic calendar for daily reports
  • Coordinate officers in the field for special event parking assignments
  • Follow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of work areas
  • Maintain, repair, and clean tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Communicate daily with University Police Department and Parking Office
  • Manage student workers to patrol parking lots around campus
  • Talk to customers about their citations
  • Deescalate customers that are upset about their citations or boots on their vehicle
  • Provide information to faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors on campus
  • Use equipment unique to position such as two-way radio and hand-held computer to issue citation information

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
  • Three or more months of post-secondary education

Required Experience
  • One or more years of related work experience
  • Two years of Parking experience as a parking patroller/enforcer

Proposed Salary
$13.50 - $15.38 per hour
