Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor - Khoury College/Roux Institute, Portland, Maine

About the Opportunity

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University invites applications for one or more positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor/Associate Teaching Professor/Full Teaching Professor beginning January or September 2024 at the Roux Institute in Portland, Maine, where we offer MS and PhD programs. We also offer the Align program, a national initiative to close America's tech diversity gap by offering an innovative Master of Science in Computer Science (CS) or Data Science (DS) for non-computer science majors. We are seeking highly motivated individuals committed to high-quality, inclusive teaching and equity in computer science. Full-time appointments at all ranks are renewable, career-focused, non-tenure-track positions with responsibilities in teaching and service. Khoury College also supports teaching faculty to pursue impactful activities beyond teaching and service responsibilities. Many teaching faculty are active in research and scholarship, diversity initiatives, and service to their local communities.

The Roux Institute represents an exciting expansion of Northeastern University's global network to Portland, Maine. The mission of the Roux Institute is to develop and attract new talent to Maine, making Portland a hub for tech and the life sciences. In this environment, teaching faculty will build out and offer traditional courses and have the opportunity to develop more customized educational experience with corporate partners. Khoury College has grown rapidly over the last five years in response to increased student demand, and we expect to continue this rapid growth for the next several years. We invite you to join a college with significant support for teaching-track faculty and an underlying mission that is driven by our motto of “CS for Everyone.” Khoury College is committed to diversity and inclusion in computer science. We aim to establish a computing population—students, faculty, researchers, and staff—that reflects today's global society. Building relationships with students and service to the college and university are integral components of the position.

The successful candidate will teach courses, create course content and materials, and collaborate with colleagues to develop academic relationships within the university and the local community.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution by the appointment start date. Appointment rank will be commensurate with experience.
