Job Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services, the Programmer/Developer is responsible for the design, planning, and support of software development, application administration, and installation and maintenance of systems in support of the university's Banner ERP and related information systems, subsystems and databases.

  • Edit, install and test programs for accessing, maintaining, and populating databases
  • Coordinate, schedule, and monitor testing of upgrades and patches as applicable
  • Develop, schedule, and monitor integrations in support of all ancillary support services, management applications and 3rd part sources
  • Assist in the support and maintenance of software for internal and external use by internal customers
  • Lead the resolution of complex technical problems within assigned systems, at the application, database and server levels
  • Coordinate with IT staff, functional offices, and vendor support in pursuit of effective operation and use of Banner and related information systems, including troubleshooting and implementation of software defect corrections
  • Create and maintain technical and functional documentation as required
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures which ensure the quality and accuracy of data
  • Utilize web-based help desk application to initiate, track, and complete work requests and other projects
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to work practices and offer viable solutions for implementation
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or related work experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming or related field
    • Experience developing applications at an enterprise level
    • Proficient in programming languages and other skills (PL/SQL, Java, C, C+, HTML, PHP, Linux shell scripting, Tomcat Apache, Windows Server administration, Argos, etc.)
    • Experience with Ellucian Banner or other higher education administrative software

    Salary Schedule:
    Salary Band: P680 - $27.89 - $34.86 per hourTo view salary schedules visit: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
