Position Purpose
The Administrative Assistant plays a pivotal role in providing initial contact for students within the department. This role coordinates essential administrative support, facilitating communications, maintaining databases, and streamlining departmental operations.

Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Two plus years of office experience in a related field, with some degree of autonomy.
- In-depth knowledge of office procedures.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and ability to set priorities.
- Highly proficient with computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative, sound judgment and ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Higher Ed experience strongly preferred.

- Assists with outreach activities, programs, and workshops.

- Serves as the primary point of contact representing the department to the institution and external constituencies.
- Schedules student appointments for Director of Student Time Away.
- Retrieves and readies student files for appointments.
- Answers phones and responds to e-mails.

Data Management
- Establishes and maintains department electronic files and databases (student contact and departmental information) to ensure accuracy and accessibility of information.
- Compiles reports reflecting data (contained within above files/databases) pertaining to termly and annual student contact activity.
- Updates/maintains student database information.
