About the Opportunity:
The Salesforce Applications Developer reports to the AVP of Employer Engagement & Career Design to support Salesforce.com for Northeastern University's Educational Innovation organization.

Responsibilities:
The Salesforce developer will be responsible for developing & maintaining enhancements to EI's Salesforce.com applications in support of business needs. S/he coordinates with the business analyst, managers, and end-users to design and develop functional requirements and to meet the organization's business needs. Additionally, s/he provides maintenance and updates to existing applications as needed, creates dashboards and reports as needed, and provides any programming or development deliverables required to meet the evolving business needs of the organization.

S/he will partner with business analysts and cross-functional teams to establish and support application development and test environments, work with and contribute to the university's Salesforce.com community, problem-solve, troubleshoot issues, and support training and documentation, as needed.

The candidate must have hands-on administration and configuration skills with the latest Salesforce.com releases, the ability to handle first-level user support/training requests, and experience designing & developing applications, advanced reports, and dashboards. The Salesforce developer is responsible for the administration and assistance & integrations for Salesforce.com CRM and related third party applications for the EI organization. The Salesforce developer will also work closely with members of ITS and other institutional stakeholders.

To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related degree required.

  • 2-3 years' experience required, including 1-2 years of experience in Salesforce.com CRM application development and administration; Salesforce ADM 201 certification, required.

  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Office Applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Knowledge of Apex and Visualforce, required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers, teams, staff cross-functionally required.

  • Strong customer-service focus, forward thinking, detail oriented, and strong problem solving and analytical skills, required.

  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation & maintenance of Salesforce.com, required.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data management.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, management, verbal and written communication skills. Must have customer service focus.
