The Human Performance Studies Department is seeking a candidate to fill a nine-month, full-time, tenure track Exercise Science faculty position to teach undergraduate courses required in human performance studies as well as graduate courses in exercise science (e.g., kinesiology, anatomy & physiology, research methods, statistics, and courses related to area of expertise), establish a collaborative and sustainable research agenda, and provide service to the university, college, department, community, and profession.
Doctoral Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related field with clear demonstration of skills in applied exercise physiology testing in the lab/field
Evidence of scholarly work
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research
Current CSCS certification
Skill in use of emerging educational and human performance laboratory technologies
Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills
Evidence of the ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds
Evidence of successful university-level teaching experience
Expertise complimentary to our departmental strengths
ACSM, and/or ASEP certification
Teach undergraduate courses required in human performance studies as well as graduate courses in exercise science (e.g., kinesiology, anatomy & physiology, sport nutrition, research methods, statistics, and courses related to area of expertise)
Advise graduate students
Conduct research, pursue internal and external funding and produce scholarly works
Collaborate with exercise science faculty, university faculty, and industry partners on research projects conducted in the Human Performance Laboratory
Mentor and develop undergraduate and graduate applied learning initiatives
Serve on departmental, college and university committees, and provide service to the profession and community.
